Ukrainian troops are recording the participation of foreign mercenaries fighting for Russia on the Vovchansk axis, including individuals from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and various African nations.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Telegram.
“Today I was with those defending our country in the Vovchansk direction — the soldiers of the 17th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 57th Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko. We spoke with commanders about the frontline situation, the defense of Vovchansk, and the dynamics of combat. We specifically addressed the supply and use of drones, recruitment, and direct funding for brigades. The soldiers on this axis are observing the involvement of mercenaries from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and African countries in the war. We will respond accordingly,” Zelensky wrote.
“It is an honor for me to be here. Thank you for fighting, defending, serving your country and the Ukrainian people, and for supporting each other,” he added.
