The invaders hit the place where the inhabitants of Lysychansk draw water for their needs from Hurricanes, as a result of which at least 8 people were killed and more than 20 were injured.
This was announced by the head of the Lugansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai in his Telegram.
"The Russians fired at a crowd of Lysychansk residents with Uragan missiles. At least eight people died, and more than 20 were wounded. Today in Lysychansk, when the civilian population was collecting water from a tanker, the Russians hit a crowd of people from the Uragan MLRS," he wrote.
According to Gaidai, 21 people were taken to the hospital; five of them, after receiving medical assistance, remained in Lysychansk. 16 citizens were evacuated to hospitals in other regions.
"Among the dead is a guy born in 2007; among the wounded is a guy born in 2008," Gaidai added.
As of June 26, 2022, after the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Severodonetsk and the transfer of the city under the complete control of the Russian invaders, only one city of Lysychansk remained from the strongholds of the Lugansk region.
On June 27, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian invaders were trying to blockade Lysichansk from two directions and encircle the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
