Ukrainian technology companies can join the Japan-Ukraine Tech Co-Creation Project, a new initiative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) aimed at developing partnerships between Ukrainian and Japanese businesses.
The project covers five key areas:
- digital governance (e-government);
- robotics;
- cybersecurity;
- drones;
- artificial intelligence.
The goal of the program is to support the creation of joint business solutions and practical projects between Ukrainian and Japanese companies. At the same time, the project is focused exclusively on civilian applications of technologies. Initiatives related to military use or lethal weapons are not considered. The project description and detailed information are available via the official link.
For Ukrainian companies, the program offers opportunities to participate in business matchmaking with Japanese partners, join a business mission to Japan, and receive funding for joint demonstration (PoC — proof of concept) projects. The initiative plans to support up to three Ukrainian-Japanese projects with a total budget of approximately $200,000.
Official registration will remain open until mid-August 2026. However, earlier deadlines apply for specific stages of the program:
- by July 10 — registration to participate in the online pitching session for Ukrainian companies (scheduled for July 28);
- by July 24 — submission of applications to participate in the business mission to Japan, which will take place in October.
The registration form can be completed via the official link.
JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) is a Japanese government organization that implements international technical assistance programs and supports economic development, infrastructure reconstruction, institutional reforms, and human capital development in partner countries.
