As part of the EU initiative to supply two million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine in 2025, commitments have already been declared for 80% of the planned volumes.

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, ahead of the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday.

"I am pleased to report that under the ammunition supply initiative (for Ukraine), commitments have already been declared for 80% of the planned volumes. But, of course, more needs to be done to reach the goal — 2 million rounds by the end of this year," she said.

According to Kallas, Russia’s war against Ukraine will be one of the topics at today’s EU Council meeting, and it is important to continue pressure on Russia.

"Even though all attention is currently focused on what is happening in Iran and the Middle East, people are dying daily in Kyiv because Russia continues its bombardment. We must maintain pressure on Russia. That is why we are advancing the 18th package of sanctions. We must also ensure military support for Ukraine," said the EU’s foreign policy chief.
