Kherson region became the first Ukrainian region to sign an official partnership with a Canadian province.
The head of the Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin, together with the Premier of the Manitoba government, Wab Kinew, signed a Memorandum on the reconstruction of Kherson region. Prokudin announced this on Telegram.
"Kherson region is the first Ukrainian region to establish an official partnership with a Canadian province," wrote the head of the RMA.
According to him, the memorandum on the restoration of Kherson region was signed jointly with Premier Wab Kinew. The agreement was reached earlier during the Rebuild Ukraine conference in Toronto.
Prokudin said the Canadian delegation expressed a firm commitment to cooperate concretely and showed interest in establishing long-term relations.
It is noted that this document is an important step in strengthening the historical and cultural ties between the Canadian province of Manitoba and Kherson region.
Within the framework of cooperation, together with partners, Kherson residents plan to implement projects in agriculture, economic development, education, healthcare, sports, culture, and environmental sustainability.
"I am confident that together we will be able to implement many useful initiatives and make a significant step towards the restoration of Kherson region," emphasized Prokudin.
He expressed gratitude to the Canadian people for their systematic humanitarian support and shelter for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Also, as the head of the RMA mentioned, among the defenders of Ukraine are residents of Manitoba. Prokudin thanked them for defending the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
