The Crimean (Kerch) Bridge will cease to exist when Crimea returns to Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the Ukrainian Pravda.

The journalist asked the country's chief intelligence officer what happened to the Crimean bridge. However, Budanov avoided a direct answer to this question, postponing the specifics for later.

“It’s a difficult question to answer. Let’s talk about it better at another time. I can only say that the Crimean bridge has undergone very severe destruction. This bridge is one of the symbols of the“ Russian world ”. . These are all signs that indicate that this regime is not so long left," the head of the GUR said.

Budanov also commented on the accusations of the Russian Federation that he was personally involved in undermining the Crimean bridge. The head of the HUR commented on this nonsense with a smile, noting that he did not take it completely seriously.

“You know, I don’t take this completely seriously. I don’t remember the exact name, but one of the largest printed publications of the Chinese Communist Party published an article that Russia blames Ukraine for this with a very high level of skepticism in these accusations. And you need to understand that what is printed in the publication of the Communist Party of China is agreed with everyone, that is, this is the official position. And they so lightly suggested the idea that, in principle, Russia likes to do similar things itself in order to accuse someone of something and then allegedly untie his hands. Once again, I say that this is an official publication associated with China's top military-political leadership. Even if they doubt it, draw your own conclusions," he said.

Budanov agreed with President Volodymyr Zelensky's hints that the Crimean bridge story could result from a conflict within the Russian security forces.

“That’s right. I can’t add anything else here. But I’ll say something else: the Crimean bridge is the symbol that will be destroyed. When Crimea returns, this bridge will cease to exist. Nobody needs this transport artery,” Budanov summed up.
