Danish shipping company Maersk has temporarily suspended cargo services to Ukraine via the Chornomorsk Fishing Port following Russian attacks on the port's infrastructure.
"We regret to inform you that, due to the current situation affecting our operations, the feeder operator is unable to continue providing services to Ukraine through Chornomorsk Fishing Port," Maersk Ukraine said in a Telegram statement.
The company said that the vessel MEDKON MIRA V.629, carrying import cargo, will be rerouted and unloaded at the Romanian port of Constanța under the existing terms.
In addition, all import shipments destined for Chornomorsk that are currently in Port Said, Egypt, or are yet to arrive there, will also be redirected to Constanța.
"If Constanța is not an acceptable discharge port for your cargo, please submit a COD (Change of Destination) request," the company said.
For exports from Ukraine, Maersk is offering customers free booking cancellations without penalties or the option to amend bookings. For cargo that has already been delivered to the port (Gate In status), the company will change the port of loading from Chornomorsk to Constanța while maintaining the current ocean freight rate.
"We sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this temporary operational disruption," Maersk said.
