Within the Defense Forces of Ukraine, a Joint Forces Group has been created. It will be commanded almost entirely by the Joint Forces Command under the leadership of Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi.

This was reported on Facebook by the press service of the newly formed group.

The command’s area of responsibility covers Kharkiv region and adjacent territories, as well as the units and corps that were previously overseen by the North Troop Group of the operational‑strategic group Dnipro.

According to the report, this sector occupies one of the key positions in the Russian plans. The situation there is difficult and tense. Drapatyi has been entrusted with this post for a second time: last year the general already led the operational‑tactical group Kharkiv during the Russian offensive in Kharkiv region and the threat to the town of Vovchansk.

The corps concentrated in this direction will report directly to the newly formed Joint Forces Group. These are experienced, modern, and progressive units of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

“Close cooperation with the young unit commanders who are part of the JFG, as well as the shared experience in operational planning, will give a new impetus to the development of the Joint Forces Command’s capabilities and create additional opportunities for effective repulsion of the enemy,” the press service said.
