Virtual monobank has introduced the ability to upload bills and invoices in PDF, PNG, and JPEG formats for IBAN payments, using AI to recognize payment details, co-founder Oleg Horokhovskyi reported.
“The AI will automatically find the necessary data in the document, and all you need to do is check if it identified everything correctly,” Horokhovskyi said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
He also noted that the app allows users to copy messages with payment details and paste them into the input field, after which the system automatically extracts the payment information from the rest of the text.
The branchless mobile bank monobank was founded in January 2017 by former PrivatBank executives Horokhovskyi, Dmytro Dubilet, and Mykhailo Rohalskyi. It operates under a license from Universal Bank, part of the TAS Group (Kyiv), and according to the bank, currently serves 10.31 million clients.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of December 1, 2025, Universal Bank had issued 27.79 million cards in total, with 9.93 million used for transactions during the month.
