Ukraine is no longer responsible for transporting gas through Russian-occupied territories, and Gazprom has been duly notified of this. This was reported by the press service of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

According to the report, we are talking about 1/3 of the total volume of transit to Europe.

Naftogaz noted that the security of gas transit depends on the actions of the Kremlin and Gazprom.

It is reported that Naftogaz sent an official letter to PJSC Gazprom, in which it announced the occurrence of force majeure circumstances that make it impossible to further transport gas through the Sohranivka GIS and the border compressor station (CS) Novopskov, which are located on occupied territory.

At the same time, Gazprom was proposed to transfer the corresponding volumes of transit to the physical connection point Sudzha, located on the territory controlled by Ukraine.

"The transfer of the transit flow does not require any additional payments from the Russian side; there are no technical obstacles to such a step. And thus Russia could maintain transit and fulfill its obligations to European partners," Naftogaz notes.

The company emphasized that now Ukraine can guarantee the safety of gas transportation only in the controlled territory. Therefore, it proposed to move the necessary volumes of transit to another connection point.

Today, May 10, the company "GTS Operator of Ukraine" announced that from May 11, Ukraine stopped the transit of gas through the station in the Lugansk region, which ended up in the territory temporarily occupied by Russia. Through this point, a third of the volume of gas is delivered to Europe.

The reason for the stop is the intervention of the invaders in the station's operation and the impossibility of control over it by the company.
