The Russian forces has increased the use of FPV drones with shrapnel-type ammunition, and the situation in the south remains challenging.

This was reported by the head of the joint press center of the Operational Command 'South,' Natalia Humenyuk, during a TV marathon.

"The situation remains tense because the enemy's attacks do not cease, including massive, daily ones, which are constantly felt by the residents on the right bank of the Dnipro. The enemy from the left bank tries to use everything it can access so far. Russians have intensified the use of drones, and the number of FPV drones has increased significantly. Currently, we can observe that the use of shrapnel-type ammunition drops has increased up to 40 times. If before we recorded 12, 17 such drops per day, now it's 36, and not all are counted yet," said Humenyuk.

She also noted that the Russians have difficulties using artillery, so they are bringing in heavy equipment like MLRS to maximize harassment of residents on the right bank.

Natalia Humenyuk commented on whether Kherson should prepare for attacks similar to the one experienced by Odessa and other cities in Ukraine this morning. According to her, there is no critical change in the enemy's tactics, and they continue to use mass and mixed attacks.

"We warned that, quite obviously, not waiting for the cold weather, as they say, the enemy resorted to mass attacks. Now there is still a feeling of approaching the New Year and preparations for the holidays even in such difficult conditions. They decided to oppress the population of Ukraine even more; this is an obvious method of terrorist influence, an obvious way to stir up society," noted the spokesperson for the Operational Command 'South.'

She added that currently, the enemy has reduced the activity of tactical aviation in the south, but at the same time, they are looking for a new and safe threshold for launching guided aerial bombs
