The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have unveiled an interactive Resistance Map for the first time, showing the results of Ukrainian underground activities in Russian-controlled and liberated territories of Ukraine. This was announced on the SOF's Telegram channel.

The map brings together publicly known and verified actions carried out by the Resistance Movement of Ukraine's Special Operations Forces, as well as self-organised groups of Ukrainians resisting Russian control.

It includes examples of both active and non-violent resistance. Users can explore events by region, view their chronology and access related news reports.

The SOF emphasised that the map does not contain information about every operation conducted by the Ukrainian underground.

Russian propaganda seeks to create the impression that residents of Russian-controlled territories support Russia and its authorities. However, the activities of Ukrainian partisans demonstrate the existence of organised resistance to Russian control.

Underground groups provide Ukraine's Defence Forces with intelligence on Russian troops, carry out sabotage operations and disrupt Russian military logistics, making it more difficult for Russia to maintain control over captured territories.

A significant proportion of the Resistance Movement's activities remains classified, as disclosure could endanger underground members, their families or future operations.

The main objective of the Resistance Movement is to assist Ukraine's Defence and Security Forces in liberating territories controlled by Russia.

The Resistance Movement is part of Ukraine's national resistance system. Its activities are regulated by the Law on the Fundamentals of National Resistance, which entered into force on 1 January 2022.
