Kateryna Hornostay's "Stop-Zemlia" received three awards at the 12th Odesa International Film Festival 2021. The award ceremony took place on Saturday, August 21, the last day of the film forum.
The professional jury named the film "Stop-Zemlia" "the best feature film", the team of teenage actors of this film was awarded in the nomination "best acting", and the picture won the Grand Prix - the prize of audience sympathy
In the category of "best directorial work" the award was given to Nikon Romanchenko for the short film "Leopolis Night".
The jury named "Dad's Sneakers" by Olga Zhurba "The Best Short Film".
Marcus Lenz's feature film "Rival" was awarded a special jury award.
The jury of the International Film Press Federation awarded the FIPRESCI prizes to Taras Dron's film "Blindfold" in the National Feature Film Competition, and "Dad's Sneakers" in the short film nomination.
The Odessa Film Festival awarded the Golden Duke for its contribution to filmmaking to the famous British director Terry Gilliam, the author of the cult "12 Monkeys", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Brazil" and other outstanding films, as well as animator Yevgeny Syvoko.
This year the National Competition was the only one at the Odessa Film Festival. Six feature films competed in it: âKings of Rapâ by Myroslav Latyk; "Blindfold" by Taras Dron; "Space" by Dmytro Tomashpolsky; documentary film "National Museum" by Andriy Zagdansky; "Stop-Zemlia" by Katerina Hornostay; Marcus Lenz's "Rival", as well as eight short films: "Run, Tanya, run" by Sofia Polishchuk; "Dad's sneakers" by Olga Zhurba; Dmitry Lisenbart's animation "Unnecessary Things"; documentary film "Second Wave" by Maria Stoyanova; âLeopolis Nightâ by Nikon Romanchenko; "Maria" by Vlad Odudenko; animation "The Tiger is strolling around" by Anastasia Falileeva; "Good Boy" by Maria Ponomareva.
