The National University “Ostroh Academy” has become a full member of the European University Association (EUA).
The head of the Rivne Regional Council, Andriy Karaush, announced this.
“The status of Individual Full Member confirms that the National University ‘Ostroh Academy’ meets the high standards of international higher education and scientific research. The president of the Association, Josep M. Garrell, also noted his readiness for active cooperation with the Academy to advance education and science in Europe,” he wrote.
Karaush congratulated Ostroh Academy on this achievement and emphasized that the EUA is a leading organization uniting more than 900 universities and national rectors’ conferences across 48 countries.
For reference, the National University “Ostroh Academy” is the successor of the first institution of higher education among the East Slavic peoples — the Ostroh Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, founded in 1576 by Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi.
The revival of Ostroh Academy in independent Ukraine began in 1994 with a presidential decree.
In October 2000, Ostroh Academy received the status of a national university.
