On the night of May 28 (starting from 8:00 p.m. on May 27), the Russian fores launched five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and one Kh-59/69 guided air missile from Russia’s Kursk and Voronezh regions and from temporarily occupied Crimea. Additionally, they carried out an attack using 88 Shahed-type combat UAVs and various decoy drones launched from the directions of Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The air assault was repelled by Ukrainian air defense missile units, electronic warfare (EW) and drone system units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defense had neutralized 71 Shahed-type UAVs and other drones over the eastern, northern, and southern regions of the country.
Of these, 34 were shot down by kinetic weapons, and 37 were suppressed or lost through EW measures.
Strikes from enemy air assets were confirmed in 8 locations.
