The Polish Ministry of Defense intends to augment the number of troops stationed along the Belarusian border.

Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak stated this to "Polish Radio".

According to his remarks, the ministry is redeploying forces "closer to the border with Belarus to deter the aggressor from daring to launch an attack" on Poland.

"Approximately 10,000 soldiers will be present on the border: four thousand will directly support the Border Guard, and six thousand will be in reserve," Blaszczak noted.

He also added that "incursions into Polish airspace by Belarusian helicopters cannot be underestimated due to the Minsk approach."

"This was another provocation. Everything that happens in Belarus is coordinated with Russia's actions," Blaszczak clarified.

Earlier, it was reported that Poland would dispatch two thousand military personnel to the border with Belarus to prevent attempts of illegal border crossings, doubling the number initially requested by the Border Guard.
