The Black Sea commercial port of Chornomorsk, one of the largest in Ukraine, came under Russian fire during the night of November 25, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported on Facebook.
“Another night-time strike by the aggressor country was again aimed at the port infrastructure of the Odessa region. The attack caused damage at Chornomorsk port. All involved services are working on-site, promptly eliminating the consequences. Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority maintains control over the situation and continues to ensure the stable operation of the ports,” the statement read.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba clarified that drone attacks damaged administrative buildings and equipment supporting cargo operations.
In 2024, Chornomorsk port ranked second in cargo throughput among ports located in government-controlled areas of Ukraine, handling 26.04 million tons of cargo — second only to the port of Pivdennyi. The largest share of cargo in Chornomorsk is grain for export, but the port also handles ore and metallurgical products, oversized vehicles, liquid petroleum products, construction materials, and containerized cargo. Russia has previously shelled the port, with the most recent attack on October 9.
On the night of November 25, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, and Kinzhal missiles. The strikes resulted in six deaths and 14 injuries in Kyiv. In total, Russia launched 22 missiles and over 460 drones, four of which entered the airspace of Moldova and Romania.
