As of the morning, as a result of the Russian rocket strike on the social infrastructure of Chernihiv, 18 people have been killed and 77 injured, including 4 children.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
Three people have been rescued from the rubble.
Psychological assistance has been provided to 58 individuals. In addition, 1580 tons of construction debris have been removed, and 71% of the destroyed part of the building has been dismantled.
Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
Russian forces launched three ballistic missile strikes on Chernihiv using Iskander missiles. The target of the Russians was a social facility unrelated to critical infrastructure. The elements of the walls from the third to the sixth floor of an 8-story building were destroyed.
More than 10 residential buildings, a hospital, and the central building of Chernihiv Polytechnic were also damaged. Dozens of cars were destroyed.
On Wednesday evening, there was information about 17 civilians killed and 78 injured, including three children. Over 40 people were transported to hospitals.
Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, has sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the organization, António Guterres, emphasizing the unacceptable nature of his inaction regarding Russia's illegitimate presence in the UN Security Council, as this country continues to commit terrorist acts against civilians in Ukraine.
