On the night of June 2 (starting from 9:30 PM on June 1), the Russian forces launched an air assault using 84 air attack drones and missiles:
- 80 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of drone simulators from directions including Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russia;
- 3 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 from Voronezh region — Russia;
- 1 cruise missile Iskander-K from Bryansk region — Russia.
The main directions of the air strikes were Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, and Kherson regions.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 AM, the air defense has neutralized 52 air attack means in the east, south, and north of Ukraine:
15 Shahed-type drones (and other types of UAVs) were shot down by fire weapons, and 37 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare.
Russian air attack means hit 12 locations.
