Russia intensifies strikes on Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv

Zaporizhzhia region

During the past day, the Russian forces carried out 440 strikes on 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region. This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

"Russian forces launched 7 airstrikes on Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Uspenivka, Novomykolaivka, and Malynivka. A total of 276 UAVs of various types (mostly FPVs) attacked Chervonodniprovka, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Preobrazhenka, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Verkhnia Tersa. Two MLRS shellings hit Novoandriivka and Malynivka. In addition, 155 artillery strikes targeted Yurivka, Chervonodniprovka, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne," he wrote.

There were 22 reports of damage to apartments, private houses, and outbuildings.

Kherson region

In Kherson region, six people were injured over the past day as a result of Russian aggression, according to the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

He said that Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Rozlyv, Kizomys, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Sofiivka, Shyroka Balka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Beryslav, Mylove, Dudchany, Respublikanets, Sablukivka, Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Chervonyi Mayak, Novoraisk, Vysoke, Burhunka, L’vove, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Mykhailivka, Vesele, Kozatske, and Kherson itself came under drone terror, airstrikes, and artillery fire.

Two apartment blocks, 31 private houses, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, a private garage and car, as well as agricultural machinery were damaged.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian troops shelled the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of Dnipropetrovsk region with Grad MLRS, artillery, and drones, causing fires at impact sites as reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak. He said the Russian forces struck Nikopol, as well as the Myrivska and Marhanets communities in the Nikopol district.

The Russians used Grad multiple rocket launchers, artillery, and drones against populated areas. One outbuilding caught fire as a result of the strikes, but the blaze has already been extinguished. There were no immediate casualties.

However, Lysak clarified that a 21-year-old man sought medical assistance after being injured in the evening attack on Marhanets. In total, three people were wounded in the district yesterday.

Donetsk region

On September 11, Russian forces killed two residents of Donetsk region, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin. He said the Russians killed two people — in Kalenyky and Kostiantynivka. Another person in the region was wounded over the past day.

Filashkin emphasized that the total number of victims of Russian aggression in Donetsk region — 3,631 killed and 8,076 injured — does not include data from Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Sumy region

On the morning of Friday, September 12, Russian attack drones struck an industrial area on the outskirts of Sumy, killing a man. The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this.

According to him, yesterday evening Russian forces used an attack drone to hit a car in Sumy district. A 19-year-old passenger was injured and hospitalized; doctors are providing her with medical care. On the morning of September 12, Russian attack UAVs again targeted an industrial zone on the outskirts of Sumy. A fire broke out at the site, damaging vehicles and non-residential buildings.

“There may have been a security guard there, but currently there is no contact with him. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, State Emergency Service specialists cannot begin rescue and recovery operations,” Hryhorov noted.

Later, the body of a man was discovered under the rubble of a destroyed building. Oleh Hryhorov added that after the first drone strike, the man was still in touch, but following a second Russian strike, contact with him was lost.

Also in the morning, Hryhorov reported, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the Bytytskyi Starostat of the Sumy community. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

On the morning of Friday, September 12, Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the Bytytskyi Starostat in the Sumy community, resulting in fatalities. The village was reportedly hit by 3 missiles. There is damage and destruction in the residential area. Information on casualties and the full scale of the impact is being clarified.

Kharkiv region

Over the past day, 18 settlements in Kharkiv region came under Russian strikes, and 10 people were injured, as reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

According to him:

  • In Kivsharivka, Kupiansk community, a 52-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man — both emergency medical workers — as well as another 59-year-old man were injured.
  • In Hrushivka, Kindrashivka community, an 83-year-old woman, a 55-year-old woman, and a 50-year-old man were injured.
  • In Pohonivka, Barvinkivka community, a 54-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man were injured.
  • In Borova, a 75-year-old woman was injured.
  • In Fedorivka, Izium community, a 61-year-old man was injured.

Syniehubov emphasized that Russian forces attacked Kharkiv region with four GAB bombs, eight Geran-2 drones, six FPV drones, and another UAV of as-yet-undetermined type. 

In Kupiansk district, a lyceum and a preschool were damaged, along with 10 private houses, eight outbuildings, two garages, a private car, and an emergency medical service vehicle. In Izium district, both an apartment building and private houses were damaged, along with a private car and a truck; a forested area of 3 hectares caught fire.
