Russian forces carried out more than 26 attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure just today, with several regions under daily threat.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk via the Ministry of Energy’s Facebook page.
Hrynchuk met with ambassadors from the G7 countries to outline Ukraine’s key needs for the winter amid continuous Russian attacks.
“Just today, we’ve faced over 26 attacks on our energy facilities. The Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odessa, and Poltava regions are practically under daily enemy fire,” Hrynchuk said.
She emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems and electronic warfare equipment to protect critical infrastructure, as well as strengthened passive physical defenses for energy facilities.
The minister also called on partners to provide extra energy equipment to replace what has been destroyed and highlighted the importance of accumulating sufficient gas reserves in the face of Russia’s attempts to destroy Ukraine’s gas infrastructure.
