A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group managed to infiltrate the center of Pokrovsk and killed several civilians near the railway station, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported on Facebook.

“Recently, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group managed to penetrate the center of Pokrovsk. During their advance, unfortunately, the Russians violated international humanitarian law and killed several civilians in the city. This occurred in the area of the railway station,” the report said.

A combined strike-and-search group of the Defense Forces located the Russian personnel and eliminated the intruders, who were hiding in one of the station buildings at the time.

The military emphasized that the defense of Pokrovsk has now been reinforced with additional forces and resources. Special units are continuously screening likely infiltration points and conducting intensified patrols throughout the city.

In total, over the past two days, 14 Russian soldiers who managed to enter Pokrovsk have been killed.

The military urged civilians remaining in Pokrovsk to avoid moving around the city unless absolutely necessary.

In the area under the 7th Corps’ responsibility, the situation remains tense. The Russian forces seeks to expand the “gray zone” around Pokrovsk and is attempting to infiltrate the city from multiple directions.

The military also released videos showing the destruction of Russian sabotage groups in one of the railway station buildings, other locations in the city, and on the approaches to Pokrovsk.

The 7th Corps noted that Russia has significantly increased the number of guided bomb strikes on logistics targets using tactical aviation. On October 12, Russia dropped 76 guided bombs on the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Last week, the Russian forces again increased the number of guided bomb strikes across the agglomeration: 372 bombs from October 13–19 compared to 220 bombs from October 6–12.
