Tonight, the Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities, damaging power grids and utility systems in Kyiv and 11 regions.
Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba reported this.
“More than 450 drones and dozens of missiles hit facilities that ensure the functioning of the country. There is damage to energy networks and utility systems in Kyiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odessa, Kirovohrad, and Kherson regions,” the message reads.
According to Kuleba, the targets of Russia’s massive attack were energy facilities aimed at disrupting infrastructure ahead of winter and depriving communities of light, heat, and water.
At present, crews in the capital are working to restore electricity and water supply. In some regions, emergency outage schedules are in effect. Energy workers, rescuers, and utility services are working continuously.
