Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held talks with Joe Deanton, Vice President of the American company Raytheon, responsible for ground and air defense systems.
The parties discussed Ukraine’s critical need for additional Patriot systems and missiles. The Defense Minister emphasized that this is a national priority — protecting people, critical infrastructure, cities, and villages.
“We are ready to invest in this area because it concerns the lives of our citizens and the resilience of the state,” Rustem Umerov stressed.
The delegations also discussed expanding cooperation between the United States and Ukraine in the defense industry sector.
“This is one of our strategic courses. Deepening interaction with Raytheon is a strategic component of such cooperation,” the Ukrainian Defense Minister noted.
Additionally, the Ukrainian side pointed out that domestic defense companies are open to cooperation with American manufacturers to make the maintenance and support of weapons faster and more efficient.
