Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, during a conversation with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, discussed the agreements reached at the latest meeting in the "Ramstein" format.
The head of the Ministry of Defense shared the update on Facebook.
"Germany remains a key partner of Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities," he noted.
Shmyhal thanked the German Defense Minister for the support provided, particularly within international coalitions and defense aid packages. The two sides are also preparing for upcoming meetings of the Contact Group.
"I spoke about the urgent needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces through the end of the year. I also informed the minister about the latest Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and the people who were killed by Russian forces last night," the minister added.
Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine is in critical need of enhanced air defense. He also expressed gratitude for Germany’s support in supplying Patriot systems.
"This is an extremely important step that saves lives. We will continue close cooperation to strengthen our shared security," Shmyhal concluded.
