Military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent of Russian military intelligence (GRU) in the Sumy region. The suspect coordinated Russian attacks in the region and ensured stable communication for Russian drones and missiles by installing the necessary relay devices.
According to the case materials, the agent is a 34-year-old resident of Konotop who caught the attention of the Russian forces while seeking “easy earnings” through Telegram channels.
After recruitment, the woman purchased radio navigation equipment for the Russian intelligence service and configured it to frequencies needed by the Russians. She then searched for abandoned buildings, entered them, and installed “radio beacons” on rooftops.
These devices provided the Russian forces with stable connections for their drones and missiles, allowing them to bypass Ukraine’s electronic warfare systems.
It was also established that she sent photos and coordinates of local military units to her handlers. Near one regional airbase, she set up a video trap in the form of a concealed 4G camera with online streaming for Russian intelligence agents. This allowed the Russian forces to monitor the timing and directions of Ukrainian Air Force flights and the effects of attacks along the border area.

Security Service officers exposed the agent, documented her activities step by step, and arrested her. At the same time, special measures were taken to deactivate espionage devices and secure defense force bases.
During searches, authorities seized six smartphones the suspect used for covert communication with her handler.
Investigators charged her under Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). She remains in custody without the possibility of bail and faces life imprisonment with property confiscation.
