The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has dismantled another scheme for bypassing sanctions on the supply of Ukrainian products to Russia.

As a result of comprehensive measures, seven members of a criminal group were detained in Odessa, including the founder and top managers of a local company that supplied electrical equipment for Russian military facilities.

The equipment included high-tech devices that ensure the protection and uninterrupted operation of electrical networks.

It was established that throughout 2023, the suspects covertly supplied several batches of Ukrainian products to Russia, totaling more than 1 million USD.

To carry out the scheme, its organizers used companies outside of Ukraine, including in the Middle East.

Initially, the Ukrainian products were exported to foreign intermediaries, who then forwarded them to Russian clients.

Among these were sanctioned Russian companies supplying electrical equipment to Russia's Ministry of Defense, including for energy supply to military bases of the Russian forces.

According to the investigation, the founder of the Odessa company involved six of his subordinates in the scheme, including the commercial director, two department heads, and an accountant.

During searches at the suspects' workplaces and residences, documentation, mobile phones, and computers used in the illegal activity were found.

The perpetrators are currently in custody and face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
