The death toll from the Russian strike on Ternopil has risen to 27.

This was reported by Serhiy Danilin, head of the press service of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Ternopil region.

“During the clearing of debris on Stusa Street, rescuers discovered the body of a woman,” Danilin said.

He added that 250 personnel and around 50 pieces of various equipment are involved in the search and rescue operations.

“The difficulty lies in the fact that the debris is relatively shallow, so it has to be cleared almost manually. Our rescuers are using hand tools and light mechanized equipment to provide help to the victims as quickly as possible,” he explained.

According to Serhiy Zyubenko, head of the Ternopil region police, the body belongs to a 41-year-old resident of the building. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
