More than 70% of respondents were in favour of joining NATO, 7% were against.

More than 80% of Ukrainians support Ukraine's accession to the EU, against only 4%.

This is evidenced by the survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

Thus, in the event of a referendum on accession to the EU, 81% of all respondents would vote "for" accession. "Against" accession to the EU - 4%. The remaining 15% would not participate in the voting or be undecided.

Support is somewhat lower in the case of joining NATO, but also the vast majority of Ukrainians would vote "for" - 71% of all respondents, while 7% would vote "against".

22% of the polled Ukrainians would not take part in voting or have no definite position on this issue.

According to the KIIS data, in the recalculation of the respondents who would take part in the expression of will, the referendum on joining the EU would have 96% of the votes "for", on the referendum on joining NATO - 91%.

Compared to June 2021, the share of those who support EU accession has increased from 52% to 81%. Also during this period, the proportion of those who support NATO membership increased from 48% to 71%. In addition, in the case of the EU - from 19% to 4%, and in the case of NATO - from 24% to 7%, the proportion of those who oppose Ukraine's membership in these organizations has decreased.

Attention is drawn to the fact that the accession to the EU in the period up to 2013 was actually supported only by residents of the west of Ukraine. In the center, although support for EU accession prevailed, it was not the majority of the population. In the south and east, those who opposed Ukraine's membership in the EU prevailed (only a quarter would vote "for" joining the EU in a referendum). As of 2021, the vast majority of the west and center supported EU accession. The south was dominated by the pro-accessions, although they were less than half. In the east, the opponents of entry prevailed. As of July 2022, the majority of residents in the west, the center, the south, and the east support Ukraine's entry into the EU.

"A similar trend of change can be traced in relation to joining NATO by the difference that this issue in the inter-regional dimension was much more polarized until 2013. Now the majority of residents of the west and center, south and east support joining NATO," sociologists say.

The survey was conducted on July 6-20 by telephone interviews. 2,000 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine, except for the occupied Crimea and ORLDO, and those who went abroad after February 24, 2022, were covered.

The error does not exceed 2.4% plus a certain systematic deviation due to war conditions.
