Two Ukrainian "centers of gravity" appeared on the map of the famous French city of Cannes - Taras Shevchenko Square and the Ukrainian House.
The solemn renaming ceremony of the cozy Cannes Square in honor of Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko was attended by Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko and Cannes Mayor, President of the Association of Mayors of France David Liznar, as well as activists of Franco-Ukrainian associations and local politicians. Ukrainian families who took refuge in Cannes and its environs.

Cannes City Hall was one of the first in France to hoist a yellow and blue flag in solidarity with Ukrainians the morning after Russia's attack on Ukraine.
