The charitable squash tournament "Zenit Ukraine Open 2023" will take place in Kyiv on August 19-20.

The Ukrainian squash community is gearing up for the largest event of the year. On August 19-20, 2023, at the "SPORT LIFE" fitness center on Samiilo Kishka Street, 8, Kyiv, the charitable squash tournament "Zenit Ukraine Open 2023" will be held. The competition will span two days and will commence at 09:00 on August 19.

This tournament is the most renowned and significant international squash competition in the history of independent Ukraine. Its magnitude is evident not only in the number of participants and representing countries but also in the substantial involvement of organizations in the preparation and execution of the tournament.

The competition will feature six categories: for men, these are categories A, B, C, D, and for women, A and B. Among the tournament participants are players from France, the USA, Turkey, Moldova, as well as from many cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, and Odessa.

The events will conclude with an awards ceremony, scheduled for August 20 at 17:00 in the "BRUGGE" restaurant.

"Squash is gaining popularity in Ukraine even in these challenging times. And this is primarily thanks to our youth. Last year, six of our juniors entered the top 10 world rankings in squash. This is an indicator that we are moving in the right direction. Tournaments like the 'Zenit Ukraine Open' contribute to the promotion and development of this sport in Ukraine," noted the co-organizer of the tournament, Maksym Urakin.

This approach is also supported by the President of the Ukrainian Squash Federation, Dmytro Shcherbakov.

"The development of youth and junior squash is our future. But besides that, we must also take care of our present. The organization of such events demonstrates that despite all the challenges in Ukrainian sports, including squash, it continues to evolve," emphasized Dmytro Shcherbakov. The tournament will have a charitable mission to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
