At the aviation plant in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh region, Russia, they repaired and refurbished missiles for aircraft.

On the night of April 9, a long-range kamikaze drone struck the aviation plant in Borisoglebsk, located 300 kilometers from Ukraine. According to the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, Andriy Yusov, based on preliminary information, the main production facilities of the enterprise were affected during the attack.
As reported, the affected enterprise in Borisoglebsk is the 711th Aviation Repair Plant, which was not involved in the repair of aircraft and helicopters. However, its profile included:
- Air-to-air missiles: R-27, R-73, R-33;
- Air-to-surface missiles: Kh-25, Kh-58;
- Guidance equipment for cruise missiles Kh-55 and high-speed Kh-22;
- Ground radio stations like R-844M, R-845M, and other flight radio equipment.
"This is indicated in the annual reports of the enterprise, the publication of which was discontinued in 2021 due to the introduction of total secrecy regarding state orders in the Russian Federation. Moreover, already in the late 2010s, the reports mention the most blurred categories of 'repair of aviation guided weapons,'" the publication adds.
Defence Express also notes that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been actively using Kh-55 and Kh-555 missiles, as well as Kh-22, which needed to be restored. Presumably, the "711th Aviation Repair Plant" was involved in this process.
