The Ukraine Accountability Conference in The Hague created the Accountability Dialogue Group for Ukraine.
Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova announced this on Facebook.
"The 45 countries participating in the conference in The Hague agreed on the Political Declaration on cooperation to achieve a common result. The Dialogue Group, based on this event, should unite national, European and international initiatives for documentation and justice for international crimes," said Venediktova.
According to her, the work of this group to support Ukraine will be managed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
"The document also notes the work of Ukrainian prosecutors and law enforcement officers in documenting and investigating international crimes in cooperation with the world community, as well as bringing to justice those who commit atrocities on our land," she said.
The Prosecutor General clarified that this conference, organized by the Government of the Netherlands, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, and the European Commission, provided an opportunity to discuss specific steps and future efforts at the highest level.
Iryna Venediktova also stated that when the whole world gathered for action to stop the aggressor country by force of law jointly, the Kremlin made a treacherous attack on the center of Vinnytsia, as a result of which people, including children, died.
"I showed the world press a photo of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service with a child near a stroller, which became a victim of the invader. Impunity is no longer possible because unpunished evil is unstoppable. Only responsibility and justice can prevent such tragedies," said the head of the OGP.
She expressed her belief that ending impunity for major international crimes is a shared responsibility.
"Although Ukraine has demonstrated that it can handle the burden of investigations and prosecutions, given the scale and severity of these crimes, justice for the victims can only be achieved in symbiosis with the international community. The times when we could live in terrible denial of reality are long gone," Venediktova summed up, adding that only "by demonstrating global responsibility and solidarity can we achieve our goals."
