The Executive Board of UNESCO adopted a decision on actions and the emergency assistance program for Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Executive Board of UNESCO at its 222nd session in Paris adopted another decision regarding actions and the emergency assistance program for Ukraine, confirmed solidarity with the people of Ukraine in overcoming the severe consequences of Russia’s full-scale aggression, and called on the Director-General of UNESCO to continue monitoring the situation in Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders in the areas of the Organization’s mandate.
“The decision of the Executive Board confirms UNESCO’s unwavering position on protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, international law, and human rights. UNESCO’s support, which is already producing concrete results, will continue to be strengthened, including during postwar recovery,” the statement emphasizes.
The MFA added that Ukraine considers UNESCO’s assistance “an integral component of global solidarity and a joint contribution to recovery and postwar reconstruction.”
