The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft law on the ratification of the protocol to the agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of North Macedonia on strengthening the "transport visa-free regime."
This was reported on Telegram by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s permanent representative to the Verkhovna Rada.
“The draft law ‘On the Ratification of the Protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia on Amendments to the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on International Road Transport of Passengers and Goods’ has been approved,” the statement reads.
The draft law proposes amendments to Articles 6 and 14 of the agreement regarding the possibility for the contracting parties to carry out road transport in bilateral and transit traffic without the use of permits. The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories is designated as responsible for implementing the agreement on behalf of Ukraine.
Ukraine and North Macedonia signed a protocol to the agreement on international road transport, which will ensure the stable use of the permit-free system for cargo and passenger transportation.
The decision to liberalize cargo transportation between Ukraine and North Macedonia was made in June 2023. Thanks to this, in 2024, Ukrainian exports to the Balkan country increased by almost 30%.
