The head of one of the customs posts in Odessa, who took bribes for customs clearance of cars, will appear before the court
State Bureau of Investigation employees completed a pre-trial investigation into the head of the Odesa-automobile customs post, who systematically received bribes from commercial structures for accelerated customs clearance of cars. The indictment was sent to the court.
The pre-trial investigation established that during 2020-2021 the official systematically received money from businessmen. For bribes, he provided an illegal influence on the officials of the customs posts for unhindered registration of vehicles. The attacker received the money in restaurants in the very center of Odessa. Several facts of an official receiving an illegal benefit have been documented. He was caught while accepting a bribe for customs clearance of 36 cars.
The perpetrator is accused of abusing influence (Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), accepting an offer, promise or receiving an illegal benefit from an official (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The official faces up to 8 years in prison.
