The IAEA mission went to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant under Russian occupation. It was headed by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi. The head of the IAEA announced this in his microblog on Twitter. According to him, the mission will arrive at the Zaporizhzhia NPP this week.

"We must protect the safety and security of Ukraine’s and Europe’s biggest nuclear facility. Proud to lead this mission which will be in ZNPP later this week," Grossi said.

At the same time, the organization itself reported that the main objectives of the mission are:

• assess physical damage;
• determine the functionality of security and protection systems;
• evaluate the conditions of the staff;
• implementation of urgent security measures

On August 25, the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine announced that the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant had been de-energized - the last of the four overhead lines was disconnected, due to which the sixth power unit of the station was disconnected from the power grid.

On August 26, two power units of ZNPP were reconnected to the grid after the shutdown and produced electricity for Ukraine's needs.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the IAEA and other international organizations should act much faster than now.
