The Netherlands will allocate one million euros for the development of priority reconstruction projects in Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson, according to a report by the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Cooperation for the Development Liesje Schreinemacher.
In total, the Netherlands will allocate 65 million euros for aid and investment in Ukraine.
According to the minister, the package will include co-financing efforts by Dutch companies to restore infrastructure, such as bridges, dams and hospitals, in war-torn regions of Ukraine. The funds will also be used to support Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses.
In addition, the Dutch government plans to allocate 10 million euros for demining and elimination of explosive objects in the territories where hostilities took place.
The Netherlands will also provide 2.5 million euros to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support macroeconomic reforms, public administration and ensuring the rule of law in Ukraine, and another 2 million euros to the United Nations Population Fund to provide psychosocial support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence in Ukraine.
Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lisje Schreinemacher and Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Kaisa Ollongren are in Kyiv on a joint visit.
