Industrial production growth in Ukraine slowed down to 3.6% year-on-year for 2024, compared to a 6.8% year-on-year increase in 2023. The decline in production growth last year was influenced by the following factors:
- Disruptions in energy supply due to missile strikes on energy infrastructure during spring and summer 2023;
- Increased production costs due to rising energy prices and the devaluation of the hryvnia;
- Labor shortages.
Last year, the output of products in the sectors of metal ore extraction and metallurgy grew by 23% year-on-year and 19% year-on-year, respectively. Among other industries, the highest industrial production growth was seen in the food industry (6.2%) and the production of building materials (4.2%).
