President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the NATO PURL program fund, from which Ukraine purchases weapons in the United States, has already been replenished with over $2 billion.

He said this during a joint media statement with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

“We already have over $2 billion in the PURL program fund for purchasing weapons in the United States. We also count on the continuation of this initiative. This is the first program that started operating after the resumption of military aid from the United States,” Zelensky said.

PURL is a new mechanism focused on supplying Ukraine with weapons from the list of priority needs. It allows NATO member states to finance the delivery of American weapons and technologies through voluntary contributions.
