Last week, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out a series of long-range strikes against strategic military and fuel and energy facilities of the aggressor state. All these special operations are part of a campaign to systematically reduce Russia’s military and economic potential, approved by the President of Ukraine.

The targets included, in particular:

Russia’s “shadow fleet”

Tanker “Blue” — an SSU Sea Baby naval drone struck a Suezmax-class tanker belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet.” The vessel was located near occupied Yalta, within Ukraine’s exclusive economic zone. Despite attempts by Russian aviation to intercept the naval drone, Sea Baby successfully hit the stern section of the tanker.

The tanker is under sanctions imposed by the EU, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine for transporting Russian oil in circumvention of international restrictions.

Fuel and energy infrastructure

“Cherkasy” oil pumping station (Bashkortostan) — one of the key facilities of the Transneft–Ural system, located 1,500 km from Ukraine’s state border. At least eight SSU strike drones hit the station’s storage tanks and production facilities. Nearly 2 million tonnes of oil products are transported through this facility annually.

“Chervona Zorya” oil depot (Tver region) — following strikes by Ukrainian drones, a fire broke out at the facility. The depot is used for receiving, storing, and distributing gasoline and diesel fuel.

“Stavropol” oil depot (Stavropol Krai) — another important element of Russia’s fuel logistics system. A large-scale fire broke out at the facility following the strike.

Oil infrastructure

Yaroslavl Oil Refinery and the “Yaroslavl” oil pumping station (Yaroslavl region) — one of Russia’s largest oil refineries.

The oil loading terminal of the seaport of Vysotsk (Leningrad region) — the strike disabled two oil loading arms and damaged three oil product storage tanks.

“First Plant” oil refinery (Kaluga region) — a fire broke out at the facility following strikes by Ukrainian drones.

Military infrastructure

“Hvardiyske” airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea — three aircraft hangars were hit.

The strike also targeted a Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile system near Simferopol and a mobile fire group in Kerch.

In Kurakhove and Hranitne (Donetsk region), Ukrainian forces struck the deployment areas of UAV unit crews, destroying drone warehouses and their warheads, as well as ground control stations for unmanned systems.

In Sorokyne (Luhansk region), a warehouse containing large-calibre weapons was hit. A large fire broke out after the strike, followed by prolonged ammunition detonations.
