SBU counter-intelligence exposed a collaborator who tried to flee to the temporarily occupied territory and handed over personal data of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and information about mobilization in the Odessa region to the "DPR" militants.
The perpetrator turned out to be a local resident who launched active pro-Russian activities with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
First of all, he established contacts with the leadership of the terrorist organization "DPR" and representatives of the so-called "Ministry of Internal Affairs of the "DPR" and "MDB of the DPR".
On the instructions of the curators, the collaborator began to administer one of the anti-Ukrainian groups in the blocked social network "VKontakte", through which he organized the collection of funds to help the "army of the "DPR".
He posted posts in which he justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, called for encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, glorified the Russian Federation and its armed forces, spread fakes and discredited Ukrainian defenders.
Subsequently, the collaborator agreed to swear an oath to the terrorist organization "DPR". To do this, he planned to go to the territory of the Donetsk region, which is not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.
He even took a "bonus gift" for the enemy: information about defense and mobilization work in the Odesa region. He obtained this data through his contacts in the local government, which he had established earlier. After all, he repeatedly ran for deputy of one of the district councils in the past.
However, the traitor's plan failed - SBU officers detained him in Zaporizhzhia. This happened during a multi-stage special operation, which was developed and implemented by employees of the Chernivtsi Department of the SBU, who "led" and documented the traitor from the beginning.
So far, the man has been informed of the suspicion of committing the crimes provided for in Part 1 of Article 258-3 (creating a terrorist group or terrorist organization) and Part 6 of Article 111-1 (collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The special operation to expose the collaborator was carried out by counter-intelligence officers and investigators of the SBU in the Chernivtsi region in cooperation with colleagues of the SBU Office in the Zaporizhzhia region under the procedural guidance of the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office.
