The SBU reported the suspicion to two citizens who agreed to cooperate with the Russian Federation and voluntarily took up positions under the occupying so-called "temporary military administration of the Kharkiv region".
It has been established that the 55-year-old local resident defected to the enemy shortly after the capture of Kupyansk by the Russian occupation forces. He voluntarily assumed the head of the State Enterprise "Kupyansk Forestry" and offered others to work in the forest farm created by the invaders.
A 47-year-old local woman also voluntarily switched to the enemy's side and agreed to the position of chief accountant of the mentioned state-owned enterprise.
Currently, both perpetrators are hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, hiding behind Russian troops fleeing from their previously occupied positions. They were informed in absentia about the suspicion of committing a crime, provided in Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The detection and documentation of illegal activities was carried out by employees of the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region with the assistance of the Second Operational Department (located in the city of Kharkiv) of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
