The Security Service has exposed two more collaborators who worked for the Russians during the occupation of Kherson and went into hiding from justice after the city was liberated.
The perpetrators turned out to be a local man and woman who initially supported the invaders during the full-scale Russian invasion. For their collaboration, they were appointed to the "administration" of the Russian detention center, which operated on the premises of the occupied correctional facility in the regional center.
There, they became "security department inspectors" of the occupation facility. They were issued with Russian-style uniforms, weapons, and "identification documents."
According to the investigation, the collaborators guarded the cells where the Russians imprisoned members of the resistance movement in the region. It is known that in these cells, the occupiers subjected the victims to torture and attempted to coerce them into collaborating against Ukraine. In the dungeons, the perpetrators assisted the Russian forces in controlling the detention regime of Ukrainian patriots.
After the liberation of Kherson, both criminals went into hiding and constantly changed their addresses to evade justice. However, the Security Service still managed to locate them and apprehend them.
The investigators of the Ukrainian special service informed the detainees of the suspicion of collaborating under Article 111-1, part 7, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The perpetrators are currently in custody and face up to 15 years in prison with property confiscation.
