U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have agreed to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

This information is reported on the website of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the two leaders concurred on continuing severe sanctions against Russia and robust support for Ukraine," the statement said.

In addition, Kishida expressed appreciation for President Biden's leadership and the diplomatic efforts of the U.S., including the implementation of humanitarian pauses in the situation in Israel and Palestine.
