The Ukrainian sci-fi comedy by Pavlo Ostrikov "U Are the Universe" will be presented at the Cannes Marche du Film's Frontieres Platform of this year's Cannes Film Festival.
"We are proud to be the first Ukrainian film selected for this program! And we hope that soon we will be able to finish the film and present it in the next edition of Cannes," wrote film producer Volodymyr Yatsenko.
According to the plot, Ukrainian trucker Andriy flies on a space cargo ship to the nearest black hole for two years. Together with the onboard computer Maxym, they must drop nuclear waste containers into the black hole.
After Earth explodes, a lonely Ukrainian space trucker Andriy remained the only survivor until a French scientist Catherine appears on the radio. Despite all the obstacles, Andriy decides to see her. Andriy and Catherine decide to fly to meet each other. This journey lasts three long years, during which the heroes fall in love.
