Ukraine and Austria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector. The document was signed during President Volodymyr Zelensky’s official visit to Vienna by Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitalii Koval, and Austria’s Federal Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, Norbert Totschnig.
The memorandum outlines the following areas of cooperation:
- Trade in agricultural products, technologies, and other goods related to crop production and animal breeding.
- Support for Ukraine in its European integration processes.
- Exchange of experience in environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture.
- Cooperation in science, education, and research institutions.
- Promotion of international student exchange in the agricultural sector.
- Assistance to Ukraine in the fields of animal breeding and reproduction, plant selection, and more.
“I am confident that this memorandum is not just about cooperation and economic prospects. It also creates opportunities for Ukrainian producers to access new markets and establish joint ventures with Austrian companies,” emphasized Vitalii Koval.
