First Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Alona Shkrum, and Deputy Minister Marina Denysiuk Held a Meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen

The key topics of the meeting included the Danish-Ukrainian Cooperation Strategy for 2025-2028, the recovery of the maritime industry, and support for the city of Mykolaiv, particularly in the area of water supply.

"Denmark is our reliable partner. Just recently, meetings were held regarding cooperation in the fields of water and heat supply. We are in constant communication, and this is a true example of how international partners can coordinate their efforts to help Ukraine. There is already a Danish-Ukrainian Cooperation Strategy that clearly defines Ukraine's needs and strategic goals. There are noticeable results in supporting the regions, and I am confident that our joint work will be a significant step toward strengthening and recovering Ukraine," emphasized Alona Shkrum.

The participants discussed cooperation in the areas of water supply and wastewater treatment, electricity supply, and the provision of support and technical assistance. A significant focus was placed on involving Danish experts in the development of project and cost documentation for the restoration of water utilities.

The parties also discussed support for the city of Mykolaiv, particularly in the area of water supply. Currently, the Restoration Agency is implementing a project for the construction of a water pipeline. Denmark, for its part, expressed its readiness to provide modular equipment necessary for water purification and supply. Another topic of the meeting was the maritime industry. A Ukrainian-Estonian Plan for the restoration of Ukraine’s maritime industry has been developed. This plan covers key areas of Ukraine's maritime sector, including shipbuilding, fleet modernization, port development, demining of waterways, job creation, and conducting marine research.

Denmark, Norway, and other countries are expected to contribute to the implementation of this plan to achieve overall European maritime security.

"Danish support is also important to us in terms of transparency in project implementation. Our Ministry, together with the Restoration Agency, is implementing the largest number of restoration and rebuilding projects at both the national and local levels. We coordinate projects of international financial organizations and monitor their execution. Therefore, we must be open and transparent to all Ukrainians. And we are confident that Denmark's experience in these matters will help us," emphasized Marina Denysiuk.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of Ukraine and Denmark agreed on further cooperation directions, resource and expert assistance, and also agreed to continue comprehensive support from the Danish side.
