NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and the NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) have announced an innovation competition called “Persistent Airfield Denial,” with a prize fund of up to €250,000.

As reported by the Ministry of Defence, the goal of the challenge is to find solutions for the long-term disruption of the enemy’s airfield infrastructure and aviation operations.

Participants are expected to propose methods for targeting key elements of aviation infrastructure.

Solutions will be considered that can provide autonomous or operator-controlled engagement of aircraft, runways, fuel and ammunition depots, and ground support infrastructure.

Detailed terms of the competition are available via the provided link.

Ukrainian miltech companies already have unique experience in developing and deploying advanced technologies in real combat conditions.

JATEC and NATO ACT are inviting manufacturers, startups, and engineering teams to take part and present their solutions.

For this competition, NATO has significantly increased the prize fund. Winners will receive up to €250,000 after demonstrating their solutions.

The deadline for submitting proposals is July 20, 2026.

During the first phase of the competition, up to 10 finalists will be selected, to be announced on August 11, 2026.
