During the visit of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the parties signed a number of important bilateral documents aimed at developing relations between the countries.
In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers and the UAE government signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the field of fighting Crime and Terrorism, which will have a significant impact on improving bilateral partnerships in the field of security and counter-terrorism activities, as well as regulate specific issues of such partnerships between countries.
Also, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the UAE on mutual recognition and exchange of national driving licenses. This means that now the owner of a driving license of one of the countries will be able to drive vehicles of the same category in the territory of another state during the period specified by its national legislation.
We must intensify cooperation between our countries precisely in the area of ââcombating illegal migration, issuing and processing documents, protecting personal data. And I also propose to more actively inform our law enforcement agencies about the revealed facts of the use of passport documents of Ukraine by citizens of third countries with signs of forgery.
Arsen Avakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
The President's Office noted that the conclusion of this MoU will have a positive impact on the development of the tourism industry, economic and business activity, and will also contribute to the development of interpersonal contacts and an increase in bilateral passenger traffic.
Another signed document is the MoU between the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Office of the State Minister for Food and Water Security of the UAE. It will stimulate foreign investment in agriculture and promote trade in agri-food products.
In addition, the parties signed a MoU on the development of the tourism sector, the purpose of which is to intensify cooperation in the tourism industry and increase bilateral passenger traffic.
